Our history begins with Reverend Bohlmann, who had a vision of establishing a Lutheran church in Avon.
The first service of the Avon Mission led by Reverend Halvorsen was on October 1, 1961 at Avon Village School with 168 people attending.
On November 12, 1961 “Faith Lutheran Church” became the official name of the congregation, but the church remained without a home.
In 1966, a site for a church was chosen, and the groundbreaking occurred as part of the Faith’s 5 year anniversary celebration.
In 2011, Faith celebrated 50 years in Avon.
As our congregation and mission continued to expand, we launched a building campaign in the Spring of 2013 to add seventy six hundred additional square feet to the church. This expansion included a new 350-seat sanctuary, two larger preschool classrooms, a large vestibule, and remodeled office/meeting space.
The new space was completed in December 2013, just in time for Christmas services.
David Woolsey became the Faith's new pastor in 2007.
